YOON KIM, OD, DIPLOMATE ABO
Dr. Yoon Kim graduated from the State University of New York College of Optometry at the top of her class. She completed her clinical training at multiple locations including Castle Point VA Hospital in upstate New York, SUNY Contact Lens Specialty Clinic in New York City, and The Toronto Laser Centre in Toronto, Canada. As a student, she was part of the research team involved in the groundbreaking Ocular Hypertension and Treatment Study which changed the course of glaucoma treatment in the US and abroad. She went on to complete her residency in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease with emphasis on anterior and posterior segment pathology, glaucoma, cataract, oculoplastic, vitreoretinal, neuro-eye, and emergency eye care at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry/The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. While at PCO, she was a lead clinical preceptor, lab instructor, and lecturer to lower and upper-year students.
Dr. Kim provides comprehensive and medical eye care including glaucoma, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, keratoconus, dry eye disease, pediatrics, specialty contact lens fittings, and myopia control. She also provides emergency care for ocular trauma and infection.
Dr. Kim is board certified through the American Board of Optometry. She was the recipient of the Esther J. Werner Memorial Award for Academic Excellence; William Tullo, Sr. Memorial Award in Optics; and the Schnurmacher Scholarship for four straight years. She has been an active member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society since 1993. She is also a member of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
